An online coven community of over 60 members and monthly subscription spell box curated to merge witchcraft with support for emerging artists, Tender Coven was born in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

When a ritual performance that I was supposed to deliver for a gallery in March 2020 was rendered impossible, I reimagined the work into a new video piece accompanied by a zine with instructions for the ritual. I also decided to send out a number of free material packs to participants.

Part tutorial, part spell, you could now experience the work safely, in your own time, space and at your own pace. I found a new way to connect with people through my craft at a distance.

Every box and spell was lovingly written, designed, and prepared by myself. I also knew that this would be a wonderful opportunity to support and share the work of some truly exciting artists. For each month, we featured an emerging artist by way of an exclusive interview and poster print of their work. For each box that is sold, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to them.

We gathered online at least once a month for a Full Moon Circle, journaling together and reflecting on the month past. Our events also included tarot reading and herbalism workshops. We even met on zoom to hex Donald Trump on the eve of the USA election. These events aimed to provide a space for members to learn, exchange, and engage with the craft and one another.
